THE FLOAT REVOLUTION HAS BEGUN
The Future of Floating
An Idea whose time has come
The global awareness of the floatation tank is very patchy. It is practically unknown in several European countries, while floatation centres are commonplace in Australia and California. The uses of floatation tanks also vary from relaxation to competitive sports training, and from hypnotherapy to pain relief. In the future we expect the benefits of floatation to become much better known all over the world.
There will be specialist centres where the therapeutic benefits will be part of other therapies. Floating is excellent preparation for massage, osteopathic and chiropractic manipulation, yoga, reflexology and many other techniques. Gradually the use of floating in preparation for competition will spread from Australia to sporting activity everywhere. This is because controlled studies have shown that there is a real benefit. We hope to see mobile float centres in use in motor racing and many other sports.
But perhaps the greatest area for growth in the future is for ordinary people to adopt floating as part of their lives, to experience the stress relief and relaxation which even one hour of floating brings.
Technology Marches On
At Floataway we see more developments ahead. One of these is the Infinity Float Pool where the salt water is at the top edge just like the equivalent swimming pool. This is a good idea because everything floats in a float pool so this design is constantly self cleaning. It also looks magnifient in a commercial or private setting. The extra water is stored in a separate container which can also be used to drain completely for energy saving and maintenance.
Luxury Designer Pools
One deverlopment we have become expert in is the designer pool, concrete and mosaic tiles with a separate technical pack. There is no limit to size although we recommend pools big enough for two floaters as a minimum, this means about 1500 litres and then upwards. We are looking at float pools with thousands of litres. We can also design special tubs for restricted spaces within a home setting, even multi-use tubs.
